Argo is an international collaboration that collects high-quality\ntemperature and salinity profiles from the upper 2000m of the ice-free\nglobal ocean and currents from intermediate depths. The data come from\nbattery-powered autonomous floats that spend most of their life drifting\nat depth where they are stabilised by being neutrally buoyant at the\n\"parking depth\" pressure by having a density equal to the ambient pressure\nand a compressibility that is less than that of sea water. At present there\nare several models of profiling float used in Argo. All work in a similar\nfashion but differ somewhat in their design characteristics. At typically\n10-day intervals, the floats pump fluid into an external bladder and rise\nto the surface over about 6 hours while measuring temperature and salinity.\nSatellites or GPS determine the position of the floats when they surface,\nand the floats transmit their data to the satellites. The bladder then\ndeflates and the float returns to its original density and sinks to drift\nuntil the cycle is repeated. Floats are designed to make about 150 such\ncycles.\nData Management URL: http://www.argodatamgt.org/Documentation\n\ncdm_data_type = TrajectoryProfile\nVARIABLES:\nfileNumber (File Number)\ndata_type\nformat_version (File format version)\nhandbook_version (Data handbook version)\nreference_date_time (Date of reference for Julian days, seconds since 1970-01-01T00:00:00Z)\ndate_creation (Date of file creation, seconds since 1970-01-01T00:00:00Z)\ndate_update (Date of update of this file, seconds since 1970-01-01T00:00:00Z)\nplatform_number (Float unique identifier)\nproject_name (Name of the project)\npi_name (Name of the principal investigator)\n... The International Comprehensive Ocean-Atmosphere Data Set (ICOADS) offers surface marine data spanning the past three centuries, and simple gridded monthly summary products for 2-degree latitude x 2-degree longitude boxes back to 1800 (and 1degreex1degree boxes since 1960)--these data and products are freely distributed worldwide. This file originated at NOAA/Pacific Marine Environmental Laboratory (PMEL), but the data come from JAMSTEC. Included in this file are sea temperatures from the surface to 750 meters, salinity, density (sigma-t and sigma-theta), and electrical conductivity from the surface to 750 meters, sea currents at 10m depth, and a variety of surface observations including winds, air temperature, relative humidity, shortwave solar radiation, and barometric pressure. Buoy positions are also included as time series of latitude and longitude. Note that sigma-theta is computed from TRITON hourly temperatures and salinity at NOAA/PMEL. After 2007, the sites at 1.5S,90E and 5S,95E, no longer deployed TRITON buoys but instead use mTRITON (mini TRITON). 8S,95E has only had mTRITON deployments. mTRITON buoys have temperatures to 500 meters, and salinity, density, and conductivity to 60 meters. Differences in the height of meteorlogical instruments for TRITON versus mTRITON which are 1 meter or less have been ignored, and TRITON heights used at all times. At 8S,95E only mTRITON heights are used. Similarly, the depth of the Sea Surface Temperature (SST) sensor is 1.5 meters for TRITON but 1 meter for mTRITON. SST depth is set to 1.5m at all times in files for 1.5S,90E and 5S,95E, but 1m at 8S,95E.\n\ncdm_data_type = TimeSeries\nVARIABLES:\nwmo_platform_code\nsite_code (mooring site code)\ntime (seconds since 1970-01-01T00:00:00Z)\nlatitude (Latitude of each location, degrees_north)\nlongitude (Longitude of each location, degrees_east)\ndepth (Depth of each measurement, m)\nTEMP (temperature, degree_Celsius)\nTEMP_QC (quality flag)\nTEMP_DM (method of data processing)\n https://data.pmel.noaa.gov/generic/erddap/metadata/fgdc/xml/triton_hourly_temp_fgdc.xml https://data.pmel.noaa.gov/generic/erddap/metadata/iso19115/xml/triton_hourly_temp_iso19115.xml https://data.pmel.noaa.gov/generic/erddap/info/triton_hourly_temp/index.htmlTable https://www.pmel.noaa.gov/ (external link) https://data.pmel.noaa.gov/generic/erddap/rss/triton_hourly_temp.rss https://data.pmel.noaa.gov/generic/erddap/subscriptions/add.html?datasetID=triton_hourly_temp&showErrors=false&email= JAMSTEC and NOAA/PMEL triton_hourly_temp

If pCO2 is calculated, the TEMP_DEPTH_HALFMETER sensor should be used as the primary sea surface temperature when calculating pCO2.\n\ncdm_data_type = Trajectory\nVARIABLES:\nlatitude (degrees_north)\nlongitude (degrees_east)\ntime (time in seconds, seconds since 1970-01-01T00:00:00Z)\ntrajectory (Trajectory/Drone ID)\nINSTRUMENT_STATE (Instrument Sampling State, enum)\nASVCO2_GENERAL_ERROR_FLAGS (ASVCO2 Quality flags, bitvector)\nASVCO2_ZERO_ERROR_FLAGS (ASVCO2 Zero flags, bitvector)\nASVCO2_SPAN_ERROR_FLAGS (ASVCO2 Span flags, bitvector)\nASVCO2_SECONDARYSPAN_ERROR_FLAGS (ASVCO2 Secondary Span flags, bitvector)\nASVCO2_EQUILIBRATEANDAIR_ERROR_FLAGS (ASVCO2 Equilibration and Air flags, bitvector)\nASVCO2_RTC_ERROR_FLAGS (ASVCO2 RTC flags, bitvector)\nASVCO2_FLOWCONTROLLER_FLAGS (ASVCO2 Flow control flags, bitvector)\nASVCO2_LICOR_FLAGS (bitvector)\nCO2DETECTOR_TEMP_ASVCO2 (CO2 Detector Temperature ASVCO2, degree_C)\nCO2DETECTOR_PRESS_UNCOMP_ASVCO2 (CO2 Detector Pressure Uncompensated ASVCO2, kPa)\nCO2DETECTOR_PRESS_ASVCO2 (CO2 Detector Pressure ASVCO2, kPa)\nCO2_ASVCO2 (micromol mol-1)\nRH_ASVCO2 (Relative Humidity within sample stream of partially dried sample, percent)\nRH_TEMP_ASVCO2 (Temperature of the sample at the relative humidity sensor, degree_C)\nCO2DETECTOR_RAWSAMPLE_ASVCO2 (CO2 Detector Raw Sample Counts ASVCO2, count)\nCO2DETECTOR_RAWREFERENCE_ASVCO2 (CO2 Detector Raw Reference Counts ASVCO2, count)\n...
